Fetches the UpDown preset bundle for this data source's Fitting and returns the preset that should be applied.
The returned preset is current when the fetched bundle still contains it, so a user's selection survives a reload. Otherwise it is the bundle's default (Recommended) preset, as the previous selection no longer belongs to the available presets. If the bundle has no default payload, current is returned unchanged.
